Recruiting for Lake Vermilion Trail Joint Powers Board Members
The Cities of Cook and Tower along with the Townships of Beatty, Greenwood, Vermilion Lake, Kugler, and Owens have agreed to create a Joint Powers Board to own and manage the Lake Vermilion Trail.
Each city and township will appoint one member to the Joint Powers Board. Meetings will be held at least quarterly to establish and review the Board’s budget and to direct trail development and management. Meetings may be more frequent as duties require.
If you are interested in becoming a board member on the Lake Vermilion Trail Joint Powers Association, please contact Carol Booth at 218-666-5990 or send a message via https://lakevermiliontrail.org/#post-4.
Recruiting for Lake Vermilion Trail Work Group Members and Volunteers
The Lake Vermilion Trail Work Group will continue to be a driving force for the Lake Vermilion Trail. The Work Group will provide advice and information to the Joint Powers Board. The Work Group generally meets once a month. Subcommittees have also been formed and those volunteers do not always attend monthly meetings. Work Group members and Sub-committee volunteers get involved in a number of activities such as fund raising, route finding, marketing, grant writing, and providing information at local events. If you are interested in participating on the Lake Vermilion Trail Work Group or wish to volunteer on a sub-committee, please contact Carol Booth at 218-666-5990 or send a message via https://lakevermiliontrail.org/#post-4.
